La Locanda di Montisi  is a pretty bed and breakfast situated in the centre of the village on the main Piazza. It is part of the Contrada  of the same name.

This beautiful building dates back to pre medieval  times, some say to around 1200. It has been constructed over several floors which are linked by a classic winding staircase. Outside you will see a beautifully preserved fresco  of a local Madonna which is always decorated with flowers. This gives a hint of the charming traditional  interior.

Each of the seven bedrooms has cast iron beds and is furnished in classic Tuscan  style. The bedrooms are named after the four Contrade within the village as well as some important local buildings. They all have an en suite shower room with modern fixtures and fittings. Some have great street views whilst others have glimpses of the countryside over a tangle of roof tops and chimneys. Try to book the room at the top of the building which has a beautiful sloping ceiling. This is made from local Tuscan  chestnut trees and terracotta  tiles. Families can easily accommodated too.

Caterina, the owner, speaks perfect English. She will serve you a delicious buffet breakfast using many local products  in the cosy dining room on the ground floor.

Don’t be surprised to see Caterina for dinner too as she also works next door at the restaurant Ritorno di Fiamma. There, she is an acknowledged expert on wine or sommelier. Don’t forget to ask her for her recommendations on local wines!

She will also happily help you plan your visit and she will give you advice on where to go and what to see. You can drive up to La Locanda di Montisi  to drop off your baggage. Parking is available 200 metres away in the main parking lot.
