Saturday 29th July
18:30; The Opening ceremony takes place in the little Theatre at La Grancia.
22:00 Jump Blues Party with the Hill Side Power Trio and a DJ set by The South Collective in the Piazza dell’Unità Via Umberto 1, Montisi
Sunday 30th July
09:00 General practice for the horses and jockeys.
From 09:00 Exhibition of paintings En Plein Air – location to be advised
17:30 The first medieval procession of the 4 Contrade to celebrate the Giostra.
18:00 Horses and jockeys, reserve officials, 5th Giostraccia di Simone
21:15 Presentation of prizes for the En Plein Air paintings. – La Grancia
Through the village, itinerant spectacle of ‘Quale Pia‘ by the theatre ‘Ensarte’.
Monday 31st July
21:30 Through the village, itinerant spectacle with music, stilt walking and fire games with ‘Accademia Creativa Compagnia Teatrale’.
Tuesday 1st August
21:30 Challenges from times past – the 4 Contrade challenge one another in games from times past.
Wednesday 2nd August
21:30 Comic performance in the open air by Graziano Salvadori – Il Mago Calandrino followed by live music with Graziano and Chiara – In the Piazza
Thursday 3rd August
19:00 Theatrical performance by young people from ‘Compagnia da du’ soldi’ – Piazetta del Castello
22:00 Jump Blues Party with Barbarossa Strasse and dj set The South Collective – Piazza della Unità
Friday 4 August
21:30 Presentation and delivery of the Giostra Banner, painted by the artist Marilena Marisi in front of the population of Montisi and the Draw for the places in the qualification practice of the Giostra – Piazzetta del Castello
Followed by the Torchlight procession, the blessing of the banner and later the traditional game of jumping over the fire.
Saturday 5 August
11:00 Procession from the Parish Church to the Church ‘Madonna delle Nevi‘
11:30 Mass in honour of the Patron of Montisi
17:00 Blessing of the horses and jockeys at the Church ‘Madonna delle Nevi‘
18:00 Giostra qualification
20:30 Street dinner in each of the Contrade (all visitors are welcome)
Sunday 6 August
17:00 Historic medieval procession by the 4 Contrade
18:00 Display by flag throwers and drummers of each Contrada
18:30 The GIOSTRA

From 30 July to 10 August the Montisi Gastronomic Stand will be open for dinner and serving dishes typical to the local area. For Giostra day, 6 August, lunch will also be available.
