Map of Montisi

Here are the directions to Montisi.

Montisi is situated in Southern Tuscany in the Val D’Orcia region. The postal code was 53020 Siena but was changed in August 2017 to 53024 Siena when the comune changed to Montalcino. You may still find the original postcode on sites which have not been updated.

The GPS co-ordinates in the centre of the village are Latitude 43.1577 and Longitude 11.6537.

If you are coming from the main Autostrade (A1) in the north, follow signs to Florence and from there take the A1 towards Rome.

Leaving Pisa airport follow the blue signs towards Florence and then you will pick up the A1.

If you are coming from the South, take the A1 in the direction of Florence.

From the Rome airports follow the Autostrada signs to the A1 and then take the A1 in the direction of Florence.

Exit at Bettolle/Valdichiana and after paying the toll, follow the signs at the roundabout for Siena. At this point you are about 20 minutes drive from Montisi.

You will join a fast dual carriageway in the direction of Siena/Perugia/Sinalunga. Exit at Sinalunga which is after about 7 km.

Turn left at the bottom of the ramp, and again at the T-junction where you follow the signs for Sinalunga.

Go straight across the next roundabout into the commercial area of Sinalunga and you will pass on your left an AGIP petrol station. Further on the right you will pass a COOP supermarket and a small shopping mall. This street, Via Casalpiano, ends at a roundabout.

At the roundabout turn right and almost immediately first left (there is a lighting shop on the left as you turn) following the signs for Trequanda. The road will take you through fields passing a garden centre on the left and then you climb over a railway bridge.

At the next T-junction just over the bridge, turn left towards Trequanda and keep following the signs for Trequanda.

The signs will take you left, right, left and right again. Follow the road past Trequanda and keep going for another 5km until you reach Montisi. You will see the village on the right hand side. Don’t be surprised that you won’t see a sign for Montisi until you are almost there!

Turn right into the village.

There are several free parking areas for you to use, which are clearly marked in white. Do not park in the yellow spaces which are for residents only.

This summer until 10 September, only permitted traffic is allowed through the centre of the village on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings as well as on Bank Holidays.

Safe driving!
